In Christ we bear much fruit
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. — John 15:1 (NIV)
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. — John 15:2-3 (NIV)
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. — John 15:4-7 (NIV)
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love… — John 15:10 (NIV)
…you will bear much fruit… vs 5
…ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. vs 7
8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. — John 15:8 (NIV)
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. — 1 John 4:18 (NIV)
…Love your neighbor as yourself. — Luke 10:27 (NIV)
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” — Luke 10:29 (NIV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! — Philippians 4:4 (NIV)
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)
