Learning to live with God’s purpose in a noisy world

05/04/25

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” 38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. — Mark 1:35–39 (NIV)

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. (v. 35)

Time spent with our Father deepens our relationship with Him.

…Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place…(v. 35)

We need silence to be alone with God, to speak to him, to listen to him, to ponder his words deep in our hearts.  We need to be alone with God in silence to be renewed and transformed.  Silence gives us a new outlook on life.  In it we are filled with the energy of God himself that makes us do all things with joy. ~ Mother Teresa

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. — Luke 5:16 (NIV)

Time spent with our Father deepens our relationship and prepares us for the day…

Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” (vv. 36-37)

Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” (v. 38)

So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. (v. 39)

Time spent with our Father deepens our relationship, prepares us for the day, and propels us into His mission.

He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that [Jesus] is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” — Acts 10:42–43 (NIV)
